Realtime Inc (“Realtime”) makes user privacy its highest priority. We are dedicated to protecting your personal information and being open and transparent to you about how we use it. This Privacy Policy is intended to be easily readable and share with you, the User, how data is collected and used. We may change it from time to time. If so, we will provide the updated date.
Temporary nature of our data
As Realtime focuses on real-time data, all check-ins, posts, or posted pictures will only be displayed to other users for a roughly 24-hour period. That same data may stay on our servers for a few days or weeks longer simply for the purpose of data analytics to create a better user experience.
Data We Collect: Location
WE DO NOT EVER COLLECT INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR LOCATION WHEN YOU ARE NOT CHECKED IN OR DO NOT ELECT TO CHECK IN TO A SPECIFIC PLACE.
Realtime is based on the sharing of user location check-ins. Therefore, whenever you elect to check-in to a location, we collect data indicating that you were at the location, along with when you were there and how long you were there. You may have noticed that we have an automatic check-in feature which allows you to check in to some of your favorite places while leaving your phone in your pocket. This setting is stored on your phone and activated on your phone, per your own settings. On our side, WE HAVE NO IDEA WHERE YOU ARE WHEN YOU HAVEN’T RECENTLY CHECKED IN TO A LOCATION, EVEN WHEN AUTO CHECK-IN FEATURES ARE ENABLED. Our services which can collect your location and may leave services running in the background require your consent and you can activate or deactivate these features through your device settings. Please note, that our service depends on this type of information so while you may deactivate these related settings, that will preclude you from using our service.
Data We Collect: Biographical Information
In order to create an account, we request that you provide us with a username, password, and email address. This information may also be provided by a third-party service if you so choose. We may retain cached or archived copies of this type of information about you for a period of time. You may also optionally provide us with a profile picture, bio or description of yourself, and usernames or handles for other third-party social media services. Again, this type of information may be retained for a period of time.
Data We Collect: Logging details
When you access our software or services we may automatically collect certain device information about the device you are using. This includes hardware and software information, including operating system and version, as well as unique device identifiers and mobile carrier information. We also collect information when you view our site including browser information, page views, and IP Addresses.
Our Use of Data
We use the information we collect to create a share social network experience for other users. In general, we may use data for analyze trends and user behaviors, improve and personalize our software, monitor Realtime and maintain a safe space for all users, and other general uses consistent with a social network.
Data for Social Network
We offer various social network services including posting pictures and comments, as well as location based check-ins. You use of these features generates the sharing of information with either your friends or the public at large, depending on your personal settings. In addition to sharing relevant data with other users on the social network, we may share your data with authorities when required by law, with data analytics services (but only on an anonymous basis), with quality control personnel if your data is reported to us as inappropriate, and in other ways deemed necessary for a standard social network.
Security
We take great measures to help protect information about you from unauthorized access or use. In order to help us complete this end, please notify us of any suspicious activity that you notice regarding your account or the accounts of others.
Push Notifications
From time to time we will send you notifications from activity within your network of friends. This will be done with your consent only. You can activate or deactivate these features at any time in your device settings.
General
In short, we don’t gather any data that isn’t obvious to you as the User, and we carefully guard the data that we do need and don’t use it in any suspicious or nefarious ways.
